THE ACTS PERIOD!

Question: What is the Book of Acts about in the Bible?

After Jesus Rose from the dead, and Ascended into Heaven, the Good News of the Salvation Work of Christ Jesus was started at Pentecost.

It was presented to “the Jews first” (i.e. primarily), because as Jesus repeated many times, I am sent only to the lost sheep of Israel” (Matt.15:24).

What is meant by Jesus Words was that the Jews were the PRIMARY target of God’s Love Sacrifice in Christ Jesus; as God had for most of the Old Covenant striven with His “Chosen People” to remain faithful to Him, but in vain, as they failed Him repeatedly, as is summarised in Malachi!  They had rejected Jesus as their Messiah before Pilate, and Jesus had been executed by crucifixion, but Jesus had pleaded with His Father “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do”, just prior to His death!

However, we know from the encounter Simeon had with the baby Jesus (Luke 2:25–32), that the Gentiles were also in the focus of God’s Plan, which is expressed in the words of Simeon “A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel”!

This is proven by the early Christian Group recorded in Acts 10 onwards, particularly “Cornelius”.

The evangelical work continued, with especially Paul leading, after the dramatic conversion of Saul to Paul by the Risen Christ Jesus, (Acts 9), which turned Saul the executioner of the Jews, into Paul the propagator of Christ Jesus, and the Salvation Message!

Paul after a short time alone with the Holy Spirit in Arabia, continued the work of spreading the Gospel of Salvation in Christ Jesus; always going to the Jewish Synagogues. He eventually reached the last one in Rome, and after the usual time with the Jews, particularly the Jewish Clergy, the massage from God the Father via Christ Jesus of His forgiveness for “His first Born Son” (i.e. Israel), was REJECTED!

That rejection led the Apostle Paul to enact the prophecy of Isa.6:9–10 (see Acts 28:25–28); which in turn led to Israel being set one side (Lo-Ammi) (not My people); which meant that the Gentiles became the top priority for the Salvation Message (and those Jews who could see through the VAIL placed on their understanding)!

So; the events of Acts, have led to Israel’s Lo-Ammi condition; which will remain until the event of Zech.12–10; when they will for the first time see Christ Jesus, and what they did to Him; and their GRIEF will be very great.
